Hi,my name is Denise Cope and I teach 8th grade Language Arts at Merkel Middle School. I am also a coach and will be the cheerleader sponsor for the 2003-2004 school year. I graduated from Lometa High School in 1985 and went on to Tarleton State University where I graduated in 1991.

Teaching has always been my dream. Having had a remarkable English teacher in high school, I quickly developed a love for literature and writing. I love to see the student's emotions after reading a great story and to see their words come alive on a piece of paper. 8th graders are a challenge, but one I truly enjoy.

This year we have started the B.E.T., the Badger Entertainment Network. This news broadcast is written by the students outside of class and taped during the period to be shown to the entire middle school student body. What an adventure!!
