Hi! I'm Ginger Bellah and I teach 6th and 8th grade Health at Merkel Middle School. This is my seventh year to teach in Merkel.
I enjoy teaching Health because the students can relate everthing we study to every day life. We are fortunate to have six Baby Think It Over Dolls to use in 8th grade Health. The students look forward to 8th grade Health because they get to take a baby home and take care of it for 24 hours just like they would a real baby. They are excited to get the baby but happy to return it. We also have a cocaine baby, an alcohol baby, and a smoking doll to show them the effects that drugs have on people. We also talk about the things that students have to deal with each day and the decisions that they have to face as teenagers. My goal is to help the students realize that the decisions they make today will affect them the rest of their lives.
