Hi! I am Gayle Maxey, the principal of Tye Elementary School. I have been a part of Tye Elementary for 17 years, first as a teacher and now as the principal. At Tye Elementary you will find the best students, parents, and faculty in Texas. We are a part of the Merkel Independent School District. Our campus is located in Tye, Texas which is located 8 miles east of Merkel.
I am the mother of two children,Misti and Zack. Misti is a freshman college student and Zack is a freshman student at Merkel High School. When I am not at school working,you can usually find me at a football, basketball, or baseball game supporting my kids and their teams. My husband owns and operates a local oil service company in the Tye area.
As the principal of Tye Elementary School, I strive to be a leader who encourages our students to do their best and to be the best that they can be. It is an honor for me to be the principal at this wonderful campus and to serve the students, parents, faculty, and community of Tye.
