Hi! I am Gayle Maxey, the principal of Tye Elementary School. I have been a part of Tye Elementary for 20+ years, first as a teacher and now as the principal. At Tye Elementary you will find the best students, parents, and faculty in Texas. We are a part of the Merkel Independent School District. Our campus is located in Tye, Texas which is located 8 miles east of Merkel.

I am the mother of Misti and Zack, and grandmother of Kylee. Misti is married to Jason Guara and they are expecting baby baby early 2010. Zack is senior and a member of the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University in San Marcos. Both Zack and Misti are Merkel High School graduates. My husband, Keith, is the owner/operator of a new company, Bullzeye Oilfield Services, which will begin operation soon.

As the principal of Tye Elementary School, I strive to be a leader who encourages our students to do their best and be the best that they can be. It is an honor for me to be the principal at this wonderful campus and to serve the students, parents, faculty, and community of Tye.
