The ACT and/or SAT should be taken as soon as possible in the fall. If your score is lower than expected, you may want to retake the test. Most Colleges accept either test.
The ACT tests in four areas: reading comprehension, English (grammer skills), math, and science.
The SAT has two sections: math and verbal which contains many analogies. Generally, the SAT tests general verbal and mathematical reasoning abilities, while the ACT is more closely tied to high school curricula. A high score on the college entrance exam can earn a student automatic course credit or scholarships depending on your college's individual requirements. There are additional study guides available in libraries, book stores, and on their websites. Studying will make a difference in your scores!
