Hi! I'm Laurie Corbin and I teach 4th and 5th grade Reading. This is my fourth year at Tye Elmentary School. I like teaching reading in both 4th and 5th grades because I can watch my students grow in skills and in maturity by having them for two years. I was raised in Abilene and attended Abilene Christian University. I taught in Sweetwater before moving to teach in Keller and then later in Denton. Teaching is a challenging and exciting career. There is never a dull moment!

I use a variety of hands-on activities, a basal reading series, as well as novels that will hopefully appeal to the children's interest. The goals that I have set are to present and teach the skills necessary for my students to become successful lifelong readers.
