Welcome to kindergarten at Tye Elementary in Tye, Texas. My name is Vicki Wall and I have been here thirteen years after teaching three years in second grade in Abilene, Texas. We use severa1 different curriculums with our students. Saxon Phonics is used in introducing a letter each week along with the state adopted reading curriculum from McGraw-Hill Reading. We use Math Advantage from Harcourt Brace which is also a state adopted program. We incoporated a new program this year from Texas Tech which uses a balanced literacy approach. Workshops have been attended throughout the year for training in this program. Our days are very busy here in Tye, Texas.
